Hassle Free Relocation Experience

Guide to Choosing the Perfect Airline Approved Travel Pet Crate.

Pet relocation is an exciting experience, but ensuring safety is the most important aspect. One key safety measure is choosing the right crate based on the pet’s length, height, weight, and breed. A crate provides a secure and spacious environment for the pet during travel, protecting them from bumps, turns, and unexpected accidents. It also creates a familiar space, helping to keep the pet calm and providing a sense of security throughout the journey.

Guide to Choosing the Perfect Travel Crate for Your Pet.

At HappyLocate, we provide safe pet relocation services for every pet. This includes selecting the right crate for dogs based on their height, length, weight, and breed. We ensure that pets are up to date on all necessary vaccinations and use proper pet carriers when traveling by air, following airline guidelines accordingly. We also provide food and water during travel, a familiar dog cage to keep your pet comfortable, and a suitable crate to protect them from accidents.

Important Aspects to Consider When Choosing a Pet Crate

Selecting the right size is crucial. The pet should be able to stand and turn around comfortably while traveling. If you have a large breed, it’s best to choose a spacious dog crate, whereas small breeds require appropriately sized crates. Different crate materials include plastic crates, metal dog crates (ideal for large dogs), and soft-sided canine crates, which are suitable for small dogs or pets that do not bite.

Measuring the pet

A = Length of animal from the tip of the nose to the base of the tail

B = Height from ground to elbow joint

C = Width across the shoulders or widest point

D = Floor to top of head/tip of ears when the pet is in a natural standing position

Note: You may refer below video for taking the pet dimensions.

Now that you have the pet dimensions, below methodology will help in choosing the right crate size for your pet.

Minimum internal container dimensions for a single pet:

  • Crate length (L) = A + ½ B
  • Crate width (B) = C x 2
  • Crate height (H) = D + bedding

Note: Snub-nosed breeds require 10% larger container
